Pembroke Pines - Weston FC U11G showed their versatility by posting an undefeated records at the Renegades 5 v 5 Shootout and the West Pines Kickoff Classic. In the Championship matches, the girls defeated Cooper City 3 to 0 for the 5 v 5 title, while coming from behind to beat Tropical Soccer, 3-2, at the Kickoff Classic. "Whether it be 5 v 5 or 8 v 8", Coach Russ Morgan said, "our girls demonstrated excellent ball-handling skill and solid defensive play."

With the wins at the 5 v 5 and West Pines tourneys, coupled with a Finalist finish in the Nike Cup over Labor Day weekend and a strong showing at last month's Florida Cup, Weston FC is off to a fast start this season . Currently, the girls are ranked #3 in the state of Florida, according to soccerincollege.com.

Jeff Lawson has coached in AYSO for five years. He has coached various teams in both the AYSO Fall and Spring leagues. Jeff played recreational and competitive soccer as a youth and continues to play in the AYSO adult leagues. Jeff has earned his Youth and Intermediate licenses and continues to pursue advanced coaching courses. Jeff is also a member of Positive Coaching Alliance.
