"Weston FC Wins West Pines Kickoff Classic"

The Weston FC U11 girls premier team were crowned champs of the West Pines Kickoff Classic soccer tournament that took place October 18th & 19th. The FC outscored their opponents with 24 goals while allowing just 1. Offensively, eight different players scored while defensively the team shutout three of four opponents. The champions are: Andrea Aponte, Gaby Loureiro, Dara Magdaleno, Giana Kamensky, Alexis Cao, Barbie Busch, Coach Howard, Marivi Daza, Valentina Acosta, Gabby Webb, Daniella Correa, Megan Lewis, Kathleen Forness and Coach Steve.

Coach
Steve Lewis has coached in Weston for the past nine years. Presently he coaches the U12G Premier team. Steve has received the NSCAA National Diploma, NSCAA National Advanced Youth Diploma, NSCAA Goalkeeping Diploma, USSF "D" license and AYSO Advance Coaching certification. Steve is also a member of NSCAA, Positive Coaching Alliance and is Safe Haven certified. He also serves on the Executive Board of AYSO, Weston FC Board of Directors and as Division Director for the primary recreational league. Steve played club soccer as a youth in South Florida and also in various adult leagues. Steve also played on his Military Police team while in the army stationed in Europe. Steve earned his MBA degree from Florida Atlantic University.
